Artist statement
My work is about the importance of resilience in the face of adversity — especially how our internal experiences are never isolated, but connected to larger societal conditions.
Most pieces start as six to eight thumbnail sketches. I pick the one that holds the idea best, then choose the medium to match it: colored pencil when it needs patience and fine detail, acrylic when it needs layers, oil when it needs to loosen up.
